About Tesseract Mobile Electronics
Tesseract Mobile Electronics started off as a partnership between Todd Eby and Jeffrey Jenkins, but when Todd got promoted (to his level of incompetence?) at his real job he went from working 60 hours a week to something like 90. Unsurprisingly, he turned the reins over to me and, some would say, customer service has been in the toilet ever since.
The xma3 - which unimaginately stands for 3-input Crossfeed-enhanced Mixer/Amplifier - came about after Todd offhandedly asked me one day in late 2003 if I could whip up some sort of gadget to let him listen to his GPS and MP3 player at the same time. I made a few prototypes by hand and sent them off to Todd for him to evaluate and then he shared them with several of the fine folks over at the Adventure Rider Forums until, finally, I had enough criticism and feedback to finalize the design of the first generation xma3. We didn't think there would be enough of a market to justify having more than single run of pc boards made but members of the aforementioned forum kept asking about the xma3 so Todd and I decided it might be time to create a website and sell these babies on the internet.
Todd, who felt that his day job programming voice prompt systems automatically qualified him to design a website, was put in charge of said task while I concentrated on production. The website was launched in May of 2005 and Tesseract Mobile Electronics was officially in business (and it's been puttering along at a steady, if not exactly brisk, pace ever since). In February of 2007, after suffering too many e-mails asking basic questions that really should have been covered on the website, I decided to re-write all of the text content. Much like remodeling an old home (my day job, oddly enough), peeling back the surface to get at the guts revealed a veritable rat's nest of problems (in this case, courtesy of FrontPage). I gave myself a crash-course in (X)HTML and basically re-wrote every last bit of code by hand (using Notepad!?!) to recreate the site as it is. I kept Todd's basic layout since I liked it, but the content is totally new... now I just need to do something about that ridiculous slogan on the right side of each page... (suggestions are definitely welcome!)
Contact Information
If you have a question that isn't covered on the website, please use one of the following e-mail addresses below to ask it. It is very important that your initial e-mail to Tesseract Mobile Electronics use the pre-filled subject line associated with each address link else the spam filter will automatically delete it... I've had to institute this because of Spambots - programs that cruise the net harvesting e-mail addresses from websites automatically so that you then receive hundreds of "offers" everyday for mortgages, Viagra, 0EM software... you know the type. When I respond to your e-mail it will be from an address that is not on the website and therefore has no subject filtering. You may use that address for all future contacts.
